A quiet members’ club in the English countryside has reportedly become an unlikely flashpoint. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be upsetting another famous couple who consider the spot their own turf. According to a new report, tensions are simmering just beneath the surface of polite civility.
Beckhams are unhappy with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry becoming ‘regulars’ at Soho House in UK
The Sussexes’ Cotswolds estate sits only a short drive from David and Victoria Beckham’s Chipping Norton home. Moreover, both families reportedly frequent the same private club, Soho House. As per New Idea, this proximity is proving to be uncomfortable for both couples.
An insider tells the outlet that the Beckhams are “not happy” that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are becoming regulars at one of the few places they can visit without being hassled. The source goes on to add that it is “only a matter of time before this becomes a real problem.”
Meghan’s connection to Soho House predates her royal wedding. Director Markus Anderson reportedly hosted her UK hen party there. The source insisted the couple see their presence as entirely natural, not as a “gatecrashing.” “This is their old network,” the insider says, referencing Harry and Meghan’s dating history at the club’s Dean Street branch.
The friction between the Beckhams and the Sussexes reportedly deepened after Harry and Meghan met Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz in the US last year, amid the Beckham family’s much-publicized fallout. David’s longstanding ties to King Charles and Prince William have also cooled their relationship with Harry. The source goes on to note that “there’s very little love lost between them.”
Despite the rumored awkwardness, Victoria and David reportedly have no intention of stepping back. “The Beckhams have much more sway and influence in that postcode than anyone,” noted the insider. The couple would rather “pick different hours, a different corner, or skip a week” than relinquish their membership, given the club’s size makes it easy to “miss someone for months.”
