Kenny Loggins says the four words reflect the honesty he has pursued throughout his career
Kenny Loggins opened up about the four words that he feels best describe his career. The Grammy-winning singer discussed his career while talking about his documentary Kenny Loggins: Conviction of the Heart.
According to PEOPLE, the singer spoke about the documentary during a screening at the Grammy Museum on September 17. He said, “What stuck in my mind from that meeting was that if I ever do a documentary, it’s got to be true. I strove my whole career to write what I thought was the truth. Even if it was a make-believe relationship, it had to have some thread of honesty in it.”
He added, “They asked me years ago, ‘What do you want on your tombstone?’ And I said, ‘He told the truth.’
While discussing the documentary, he shared that initially he had little interest in showcasing his life. However, even when he decided to do a documentary, authenticity was important to him.
So, when he was asked what he wanted on his tombstones, he had four words in mind.
He is known for his hits “Footloose,” “Danger Zone,” and he has built a long career in music.
Director and Broadway producer Dori Berinstein, joined him on stage. Berinstein initially approached Loggins about turning his musical journey into a Broadway musical and changed her idea after talking to him.
Berinstein added, “And then the pandemic hit, and then thinking that this was going to turn into a Broadway musical, I suggested we, even though there’s a pandemic going on, that we get some foundation and do an interview with you remotely.”
The interview made her realize that Loggins story deserves a big screen.
His documentary is based on Loggins song Conviction of the Heart, released in 1991. Kenny Loggins: Conviction of the Heart is set to premiere in April 2027.
