Trey Songz’s alleged sexual assault accuser has asked the court to give her access to part of the confidential settlement paid by the singer. Jauhara Jeffries filed a lawsuit in 2021 against the 41-year-old singer over an alleged 2018 sexual assault and reached a settlement with him last year.
Jauhara Jeffries asked the court to release part of her Trey Songz lawsuit settlement from escrow
According to TMZ, Jeffries claims the settlement money remains in a court-controlled escrow account because of an unresolved lien issue. She is now asking the court to release 55 percent of the settlement, or the funds exceeding $69,950.52. Jeffries reportedly said she needs the money as soon as possible. She claimed that the delay is keeping her from moving forward with certain aspects of her life. The total value of the confidential settlement remains undisclosed.
Jeffries alleged that Songz, whose legal name is Tremaine Neverson, sexually assaulted her on January 1, 2018. She claimed she had spent New Year’s Eve at a party at Diddy’s house with Songz before later going to a club with him and other women. Jeffries alleged that Songz inserted his fingers into her vagina without consent while they were at the club. Despite this, she later got into his car. Jeffries claimed Songz eventually kicked her out after she refused to give him her phone. Songz denied the allegations.
In September 2025, the parties reached a confidential settlement before trial. The court then dismissed the case, and the allegations were never decided by a jury or judge. The outlet has now reported that the judge denied Jeffries’ request for immediate access to part of the settlement. However, the court scheduled another hearing for later in September.
