Howard Stern addresses reports about his workplace culture and responds to being called a ‘scumbag’

Howard Stern’s The Howard Stern Show kicked off with a savage reply to being called a “scumbag.”

He remarked, “I’ve never had a summer where I was treated so well in the press. It was so positive. I can’t believe it. I can’t tell you how many different people have called me a scumbag.”

Stern denied reports published by The Sun claiming his staff is not allowed to talk to him at the parties.

According to Page Six, he also clarified that his wife, Beth, was not “defending him” during her recent interview. He explained, “They interpreted it some other way. They wrote just something they wanted to write, and said that she was defending me. When did I ever need a defense? If you think I’m a scumbag, you’re probably right.”

On his Monday show, Stern shared that he “gave up” on the Howard 101 channel as he did not want to take the responsibility. He added, “I’ve never been more successful. I am the most successful radio personality. I mean, not that that’s anything to boast about. I mean, it didn’t take much effort.”

While Stern addressed the claims about staff, he did not discuss the mass layoffs from his show.

Howard and his wife Beth were sued by former executive assistant Leslie Kuhn. Kuhn accused the couple of creating a hostile work culture.

However, the couple won the case against Kuhn after the judge ruled against the allegations.

He signed a three-year contract with SiriusXM for his show. He told his listeners at the time, “I am happy to announce that I have figured out a way to have it all. More free time and continuing to be on the radio.”

Howard came back on the show on Monday, smartly responding to claims surrounding his workplace environment.
