Pete Hegseth’s bizarre word displayed on Donald Trump’s RNC convention
Most recently, Pete Hegseth drew attention during an RNC hype video after delivering a particularly aggressive message about America’s response to threats against its citizens.
Featured in a video played at Donald Trump’s Republican National Convention, Hegseth said, “An American means something unbreakable. If you kill Americans. If you threaten American anywhere on Earth. We will hunt you down without apology and without hesitation. And we will kill you. We didn’t start this way. But under President Trump we are finishing this way.”
The blunt “we will kill you” remark has since received mixed reactions from users on X (formerly known as Twitter), with some questioning the wording used in the video. One user wrote, “theatrical and dangerous. featuring “we will kill you” on a national stage is manufacturing intimidation, not momentum. if you care about safety, stop making threats your hook.”
Another commented, “Hegseth is an idiot with too much power and no leadership skills. DOD is facing a crisis of leadership, escalating paranoia and in all probability a huge financial scandal. Hegseth is rapidly losing those he can blame for his failures.” A third comment read, “Dark MAGA’s message tonight: V I O L E N C E.”
Meanwhile, a fourth user added, “This doesn’t make us look strong. It makes us look like fools. I’m going to die if second hand embarrassment before this shitshow is over.”
