Reportedly, the influencer died on Sept. 3 after losing consciousness under anesthesia before the cosmetic procedure began, according to her parents. Oras was rushed to the Helsinki University Hospital and was pronounced dead. A spokesperson for the family said that she had died “after an aesthetic procedure gone wrong.”

The police received a request to investigate from her family. According to TMZ, the police are now investigating her death as aggravated manslaughter. “The investigation is in its early stages, and there is no further information to share at this time,” police said in their statement.

Olivia rose to prominence in Finland as a teenager and opened her Instagram account at 14, when she gained thousands of followers. She later became the subject of a documentary called “The Perfect Selfie.” The documentary observed her life for one and a half years. It also assessed the content creator’s relationship with social media.

However, Olivia later closed her social media accounts and moved to Amsterdam after the documentary’s release. She got a job at a cafe and had plans to enroll in a local university. While living in Amsterdam, she witnessed a friend die by suicide.

“I was just building the life of my dreams, but now I saw what happened in my eyes over and over again,” she told Finnish outlet Ilta-Sanomat in a 2024 interview.

Olivia moved back to Helsinki and developed an addiction to sleeping pills. In 2022, she went to treatment at an addiction facility for a month.

After her father was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, Olivia founded Oras Respiratus Ry, a non-profit that supports pulmonary research. She also worked as the head of community at an artificial intelligence startup. Additionally, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for PALL0 by Ai2Ai.
