Bachelor in Paradise Couple Splits One Year After Their TV Engagement

Jess Edwards and Spencer Conley ended their engagement one year after viewers watched their proposal on the Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 finale.

The former Bachelor in Paradise couple announced the breakup in a joint Instagram statement on September 8. They said the decision followed several conversations rather than one specific incident.

Edwards and Conley said they had spent time reflecting on their relationship before deciding to separate.

“After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our engagement and go our separate ways,” they wrote.

The pair also made clear that one event did not cause the split.

“There wasn’t one moment that brought us here,” the statement continued.

Jess Edwards and Spencer Conley said they still valued the time they spent together.

“The past year and a half gave us so many memories and experiences that we’ll always cherish, and while this isn’t the ending we imagined, we’ll always have so much love and respect for each other and for what we shared,” they wrote.

The couple had previously discussed possible wedding plans several times after leaving Bachelor in Paradise.

In February, Conley and Edwards spoke about their wedding plans on the Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast.

Conley said he had already considered several potential groomsmen, including his three brothers and close friends. Edwards had no siblings, so she planned to choose bridesmaids from friends and cousins.

The pair had also considered Tennessee as a possible wedding location.

They even discussed changing the traditional ceremony positions. Edwards planned to stand on the right, while Conley would stand on the left.

However, they never placed a strict timeline on the wedding.

In September 2025, Edwards said they preferred to see how their relationship developed before starting serious planning.

“We don’t like to put super strict timelines on things,” she said at the time.

One year after their televised engagement, the pair ultimately decided to move forward separately.

“We’re moving forward with grateful hearts, genuinely wanting nothing but happiness for one another,” they wrote.

They also thanked fans who had supported their relationship.
