Giada De Laurentiis Hit With Painful Injury Before DWTS Debut

Giada De Laurentiis has injured her toe just one week before appearing in “Dancing With The Stars”.

The celebrity chef shared the condition of her toe with social media fans.

In the Instagram post, Laurentiis revealed that she has “busted her toe”. The video also showed an injured and bruised middle toe that had turned purple. The Food Network star said, “As you can see, it’s quite purple, and it wraps all the way around.” She shared a closeup of the injury with a red arrow directing viewers to the injury with a red arrow.

The chef also said that she may lose a toe as a consequence. “I’m for sure going to lose a toenail I think,” she said.

Even though the DWTS competitor admitted that the toe was hurting, it hardly seemed to hold her back. She appeared intent on keeping moving ahead. “We’ll figure it out tomorrow,” she said with a sigh. “Part of the game.”

Fans jumped in on social media, sharing cures and concerns for the chef. They also related to dance-induced foot injuries.

One person wrote, “Coming from an x-ray tech’s daughter-even if by chance the toe is fractured, you can tape the hurt toe together with one of the toes on either side of the sore one and soak as much as you can with epsom salt because the magnesium in it can help.” Another quipped, “Hope you feel better soon- we are rooting for you.”

A third fan said that such injuries are common in ballroom dancing, “Get used to it lol! I’ve been taking ballroom dance lessons for over four years and I barely have any toe nails left.“ Another urged Laurentiis to continue with her life and not withdraw, “Stay with it I broke three toes on one foot and walked every day. Different when dancing I know it’s tough!!! Wanna see you win this thing!!”

DETS judge Carrier Ann Inaba also dropped in to offer encouragement, saying, “You are officially a dancer now! :)”

Premiering next Tuesday, DWTS Season 35 will have Laurentiis paired with professional ballroom dancer Alan Bersten.
