Amanda Hirsch Deletes Lindsay Clancy Betting Ad: ‘Completely Insensitive, Wrong’

The Lindsay Clancy murder trial has drawn so much nationwide attention that new theories and opinions continue to emerge, including takes from major public figures. However, a recent development has taken a different turn. According to reports, Amanda Hirsch deleted a Lindsay Clancy betting ad after facing criticism for being insensitive and wrong.

Amanda Hirsch apologized after facing intense backlash for linking a Polymarket betting ad to the tragic Lindsay Clancy trial

Lindsay Clancy’s trial ended in a mistrial, after which writer Amanda Hirsch wrote about the case, “On Polymarket it was predicted the verdict would be Not Guilty. Are you surprised? #Polymarketpartner.” Her post drew heavy criticism, prompting Hirsch to apologize on Instagram. According to Just Jared, she said she felt sick that she had not seen that moment.

Hirsch said, “Posting about the Lindsay Clancy trial in the same breath as a brand partnership was completely insensitive, wrong, and out of character for me — I should have known better, and I feel sick that I didn’t see that in the moment.”

The Not Skinny But Not Fat creator also said that, as a mom, the case affected her deeply. Amanda Hirsch also acknowledged that she had made a terrible judgment call.

Hirsch said, “I made a terrible judgement call and I feel so f***ing awful about that. I know deleting it doesn’t erase it. Believe me, I’m horrified by the choice I made and please know this lapse in judgement does not represent who I am as a person. I am so deeply sorry.”

Even before the betting post and the social media apology requested on September 6, 2026, the writer had already shown how deeply she felt about the case. Her Instagram post from a week earlier offered a clear indication of this. In the post, Hirsch wrote that Lindsay Clancy’s trial had consumed her and had touched everyone in different ways, while also starting a much-needed conversation.

Talking about Clancy’s case, the trial has only ended in a mistrial, and the case itself remains open. The alleged murderer is likely to remain in mental health facilities until further updates.
