Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen may return for its third season sooner than expected. Theo James has confirmed that filming for the upcoming season is set to begin “very, very soon.” The actor has also teased a darker story, new locations, and additional characters for the next chapter. With production approaching, the wait for Season 3 could be shorter than anticipated.
The Gentlemen Season 3 is about to begin filming
Theo James has confirmed that work on The Gentlemen Season 3 is moving closer to production. The actor, who plays Eddie Horniman in the Netflix crime series and serves as an executive producer, said the next season will begin filming “very, very soon,” adding that production is happening “almost imminently.”
James shared the update while speaking with ScreenRant. He did not reveal the storyline for the new episodes, but indicated that the upcoming chapter will take the series into darker territory. He described Season 3 as “pretty gnarly” and said “that darkness” seen in Eddie’s story during Season 2 will be “expanded” in the new season.
The actor also revealed that the series will move beyond its existing settings. Season 3 will be “going to different locations” and will introduce “new characters” as the show continues “expanding the world even more.”
James has portrayed Eddie since the series debuted in 2024. The character’s life changes after he inherits the Duke of Halstead title following his father’s death. He soon discovers that his family’s estate is connected to a criminal operation involving marijuana cultivation.
Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Ray Winstone and Giancarlo Esposito are also part of the series’ cast. Netflix renewed The Gentlemen for a second season after the show’s 2024 debut and later confirmed a third season.
