Sandra Bullock Teases Surprising Practical Magic 2 Cameos Hiding in Plain Sight

Sandra Bullock has teased unexpected secret cameos in her upcoming sequel, Practical Magic 2. The long-awaited follow-up to the 1998 cult classic reunites Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the beloved Owens sisters.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Bullock revealed that her children will actually appear in Practical Magic 2, though audiences will have to look closely to spot them.

“They’re in the movie, but not in an obvious way to you,” she shared. “And so I can’t wait to sort of show them where it is. They don’t know where it is.”

Sandra Bullock & Nicole Kidman reunite 27 years after Practical Magic

Nearly three decades after the original film’s debut, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman share the screen once again as Sally and Gillian Owens.

While the 1998 original received mixed reviews from critics upon release, it subsequently grew into a beloved cult classic, maintaining a strong 73% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.

As for the next chapter, it will see Bullock and Kidman’s characters confronting a family curse that’s haunted their bloodline for ages. Practical Magic 2’s story will take place 25 years after the events of the first part. The mystery begins unfolding after Sally’s daughter Kylie discovers long-buried family secrets and gains magical abilities of her own.

When the curse intensifies, Sally, Gillian, and their aunts travel to the United Kingdom to trace the origin of their magic and protect the next generation.

Practical Magic 2 features returning original stars Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing as aunts Jet and Frances Owens. The ensemble cast also introduces Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, and Evan Rachel Wood.

Bullock and Kidman produce the film alongside Denise Di Novi. Directed by Susanne Bier, Practical Magic 2 arrives in theaters on September 10, 2026.
