It caught attention online as it was posted after the US strikes hit rocket launchers on an island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Donald Trump took over Truth Social to post another AI video on the platform. This time it depicted Iran’s Kharg Island under attack. However, the President has not confirmed any US strikes on the island, and no evidence is available to support it.
Kharg Island is important to Iran, as the island handles almost 90 percent of the country’s crude oil exports. Thus, when the video was posted, it instantly became a hot topic on social media.
The video depicts a man looking at the island being bombed by missiles while sitting in an aircraft. In the caption, Trump wrote, “Kharg Island being blown to smithereens!!! President DJT.” In response to the video, National Iranian Oil Co Chief Executive Hamid Bovard told Nournews that no such attack took place on Kharg Island. Bovard said, “Trump’s tweets are laughable, and conditions in Kharg are calm and appropriate.” (via the New York Post)
The video went viral after the United States made its first known attack on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz after a month. According to CBS News, in retaliation, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched an attack on America’s military bases in Jordan. However, Jordan’s military claimed that it intercepted the missiles.
Moreover, the US is also planning to punish those institutions that help Iran. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview, “We’re starting with the banks, and we’re telling the banks it’s not okay to have Iranian money and to aid the regime. You’re going to see a lot more of these every week.”
