According to a recent report, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent a massive amount on their travel to the UK. They booked a private jet through Planet 9 so they could bring their extended pet family. Amid their relocation, it was reported that they left their Montecito mansion with a “whimper, not a bang.”
The Sussexes reportedly chartered a luxury Planet 9 jet costing about $12,000 an hour for the flight to Birmingham
A source informed Page Six that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opted for a private plane via Planet 9, which costs $12,000 per hour for the 10-hour flight. The amenities the expensive jet offers are as follows: storage for 12 to 15 medium suitcases, 13-passenger seating, two bathrooms, and 5 beds that could accommodate six people.
One of the reasons behind traveling privately also had to do with the family having to carry their pets from Los Angeles to Birmingham. While the Sussexes brought their dogs with them, they reportedly left behind Archie’s chickens in their Montecito home.
Ahead of their return, a source shared Harry’s thoughts on coming back to the UK, which he left in 2020. They claimed that he had continued to miss Britain. “He’s missed that sense of connection and belonging. Britain is still home in many ways.” However, they revealed that the decision to move to the UK was taken as a family together. As per a Montecito insider, Markle has found this decision appealing because she feels that they would be able to give their children the experience of both worlds.
The Sussexes are set to live outside of London in private accommodation, rather than a royal base. They would be provided with no taxpayer-funded security. Archie and Lilibet will be starting their school lives in the UK this week, with the institution name currently undisclosed. The couple’s decision to move also comes over a month after their emotional and private reunion with King Charles.
