Netflix has shared new posters for its upcoming true-crime thriller film, Unabomber. The latest posters include images of Russell Crowe, Jacob Tremblay, and Shailene Woodley. The official trailer is set to be released tomorrow.
The streamer shared the images on X, writing, “Before the headlines, there was the mind behind them.” The dark visuals tease an intense look at a disturbing chapter of American history.
Tremblay plays a young Ted Kaczynski, who would later become known as the Unabomber. Gladiator star Crowe plays Harvard professor Dr. Henry Murray, who subjected Kaczynski to controversial psychological experiments while he was a student. Emmy-nominated actress Woodley plays FBI agent Joanne Miller, who leads the manhunt for Kaczynski.
What else do we know about Russell Crowe’s Unabomber movie?
The true-crime drama follows Kaczynski’s transformation from a mathematical prodigy into a domestic terrorist and explores the events that shaped his path. It also explores his time at Harvard and the controversial psychological experiments to which he was subjected there.
The logline for the movie, per Netflix, reads, “Inspired by true events, UNABOMBER follows Ted Kaczynski’s (Jacob Tremblay) transformation from 16-year-old Harvard prodigy into the infamous Unabomber. Subjected to controversial psychological experiments by Professor Henry Murray (Russell Crowe), Kaczynski’s troubled past resurfaces decades later when his manhunt, led by FBI agent Joanne Miller (Shailene Woodley), brings to light the chilling consequences of ambition and isolation.”
Besides Crowe, Woodley, and Tremblay, the film also stars Annabelle Wallis, Alexander Ludwig, Steven Ogg, and Marc Menchaca. Wallis plays Professor Murray’s academic partner, Christiana Morgan.
Janus Metz directs the film from a screenplay by Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves, with Sophie Cassidy producing for 2.0 Entertainment, in association with MRC. Donald J. Lee, Sam Chalsen, and Nelson Greaves serve as executive producers. Marco Beltrami composed the film’s score.
Unabomber will premiere on Netflix on September 25, 2026. The trailer should offer a closer look at the film’s take on Kaczynski’s story.
