Netflix May Soon Offer Peacock & More as Streaming Service Rethinks Strategy

Netflix may be aiming to become a single destination for all streaming content, as the platform is reportedly considering bringing Peacock and other rival services under one roof.

According to a report from The New York Times, the streaming giant is exploring third-party aggregation in the near future. Following a successful third-party integration pilot with French broadcaster TF1, Netflix is reportedly in active discussions to expand its offerings. Talks have included potential arrangements with platforms such as Peacock and Fox One, as confirmed by sources familiar with the discussions.

Such a shift mirrors the strategy Amazon Prime Video has utilized for years. Prime Video Channels allows users to add third-party subscriptions like Max, Apple TV+, and Paramount+ directly through its interface, charging separate monthly add-on fees.

Netflix is reconsidering its long-standing approach to rival streaming services

The reported move comes as a surprising development from Netflix. The online streaming platform had preferred to maintain its distance from rivals. Focused on gaining new subscribers who are exclusively loyal to the platform, executives from Netflix had previously dismissed the idea of aggregation.

As the streaming landscape shifts from aggressive subscriber growth to audience retention, keeping users logged into the app longer has become a top priority.

A deal with Fox One or Peacock would mean that users would have access to a wide array of sporting events. At the moment, the platform is actively tapping into sports with NFL, WWE, and select boxing telecasts. It also offers a limited MLB package for its viewers.

Not only Netflix, but YouTube too, is making giant strides in the online streaming market. They have recently joined hands with NBCUniversal in July 2026. YouTube Premium subscribers will now have access to premium content like NBA, NFL, Love Island USA, Saturday Night Live, and more. Viewers will be able to use the integrated services from early 2027 onwards.
