Jacob Elordi got candid about working with Ridley Scott. The Frankenstein star will soon appear in the upcoming sci-fi project The Dog Stars.
Ahead of the movie’s theatrical release this week, Elordi praised the acclaimed veteran filmmaker. “I’d argue that he’s on everyone’s list of cinematic heroes,” said Elordi in a new featurette for The Dog Stars, reports ABC11.
It seems the 29-year-old had a great time working with the Alien and Blade Runner director. “Ridley uses like, ten cameras. And he sits in a trailer and watches A-cam, go to B-cam, go to C-cam and he cuts the film in his head watching the monitors. And I don’t think there’s anyone else in the world that films that way,” he added while explaining what makes Ridley Scott unique and an excellent filmmaker.

Jacob Elordi will lead in 88-year-old filmmaker’s The Dog Stars. The post-apocalyptic movie will follow a group of survivors trying to find the source of a mysterious radio transmission. Elordi will play Hig, a young pilot who makes his way out in a futuristic, deadly world.
His upcoming movie’s official synopsis reads, “Scott tells the story of Hig, a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley, has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists.”
The ensemble cast also features Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War, No Country for Old Men, Sicario, Weapons), Margaret Qualley (The Substance, Maid, Honey Don’t!), Guy Pearce (Memento, The Brutalist), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange, Weapons, Gemini Man), and Allison Janney (The Diplomat, Mom).
Scott is one of the producers, alongside Michael Pruss, Mark L. Smith, and Cliff Roberts. Lily Brooks-Dalton, Brandon Scott Smith, Heller, and Aidan Elliott are serving as executive producers.
The Dog Stars releases in theaters on August 28, 2026. It will be the English filmmaker’s first project since his last directorial effort, Gladiator II in 2024.
