Beloved Netflix TV Show With Minions Star Gets Season 2 Renewal, Production Window

A fan-favorite TV show has reportedly been renewed by Netflix for a second season. The show will also reportedly feature a Minions star.

According to the latest updates from Variety, the British crime drama from Neil Forsyth, Legends, will come back for a second season. The series features Minions star Steve Coogan, alongside Tom Burke and Hayley Squires.

Reflecting on the good news, Forsyth expressed his enthusiasm for expanding the series narrative, stating, “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to tell a new story in the fascinating and unique world that ‘Legends’ offers and to show just how dangerous, thrilling, and important their work became in the late 1990s.”

The first season of the show was released back in 2026. Immediately, the crime thriller gained quite a bit of traction among the viewers. Season 1 revolved around a group of ordinary Customs officials risking everything to uncover and dismantle a major drug syndicate operating across Britain. The upcoming season is expected to carry on with the tone set in the first part.

What do we know about Legends Season 2 so far?

The official synopsis for Legends season 2 reads, per Variety, “As the story moves further into the 1990s, a changing Britain faces a new drugs threat on a scale never seen before. The team of undercover Customs Officers come together once more to take on new challenges, and new enemies in a thrilling, worldwide operation.”

The producers listed for the show include Tannadice Pictures and Lion Television. Executive producers for the season are Richard Bradley, Ben Farrell, and Neil Forsyth. More updates from Variety have confirmed that season 2 will comprise 6 episodes. Production for Season 2 is scheduled to begin in 2027.

The renewal for Legends arrives alongside other high-profile Netflix projects, including new seasons for The Gentlemen and Being Gordon Ramsay.
