Meghan Markle’s UK Return With Prince Harry Is Anything but Permanent — Source

Meghan Markle reportedly won’t be returning to the UK permanently and feels that California is where she truly belongs. Prince Harry and Markle made the decision to step down from their royal duties in 2020. They moved to Montecito with their son, Prince Archie, and built a life there away from the monarchy. However, Harry has now made it clear that he wants to visit the UK more often and spend time with his father, King Charles. While the Duchess is reportedly not opposed to the idea, sources say that she would consider returning to Britain for six months as a trial period.

A report by Rob Shuter suggests that while Meghan Markle may return to the UK, it would only be on a trial basis. The move comes after Harry has reportedly made it clear that he wants to rebuild bridges with his family. He has felt “buoyed” and “energised” after meeting with his father, King Charles, following a long period apart.

Harry is also set to visit the UK more often for charitable work, as well as the Invictus Games, which are due to be held next year. As for Markle, sources say she is not yet willing to relocate to Britain permanently. For now, she has reportedly agreed to spend six months in the UK.

This doesn’t mean that the couple would have to give up their home in Montecito. According to the source, Markle wants to keep her home in California, as well as their property in Portugal, where they spend their vacations. After living in California for several years and building their life there, the state feels safe, comfortable, and like home to Markle.

Plus, she doesn’t have much of a social circle in Britain. Most of the people she knows there belong to the royal world. The feeling of not knowing many people around her and the potential isolation could make relocating to the UK much more difficult for her.

A source said, “Meghan is agreeing to try it, but she isn’t moving back to Britain. Six months is the test. She wants an exit strategy.”
