The film’s performance put it ahead of several other recent romantic comedies, including “Ticket to Paradise,” starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and “The Lost City,” featuring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.
Despite the film’s success, Sweeney and Powell previously decided against making a sequel. According to the source, both actors felt that returning for a second installment could be challenging. “Glen and Sydney decided a couple of years ago that they were not interested in pursuing a sequel,” the source told the National Enquirer, adding that sequels are “extremely difficult to pull off.”
Powell, however, has not given up on the idea of working with Sweeney again. “Glen is persistently and consistently pinging Sydney and her team about finding a different project they could both work on,” the insider said.
