Kanye West May Meet Putin in Russia & the Reason Is Wild

Kanye West could reportedly meet President Vladimir Putin in Russia for a specific reason. The controversial rapper will be headlining two sold-out concerts in St. Petersburg after his recent failed UK performance. The Russia concerts will take place on October 10 and 11. Sources have revealed that the meeting is “possible”; however, nothing is finalised as of yet.

Kanye West might possibly meet President Vladimir Putin in Russia, where he is scheduled to perform at two sold-out concerts. As per the Daily Star, tickets for the concerts went on sale on August 17 and were completely sold out in a record time of less than an hour. Interestingly, as per the outlet, West is the first renowned Western artist to perform in Russia since the country declared war against Ukraine in 2022.

Now, as per a fresh development on August 18, Russian MP Svetlana Zhurova hinted at the possibility of Putin meeting the “Runaway” rapper. Zhurova claimed: “Hypothetically, such a possibility exists. The main issue here is the working schedule of our president and the artist’s own schedule, so that they align.”

The Russian MP emphasized arranging robust security measures for the possibility of the meeting going smoothly. Furthermore, local organiser Anna Subcheva noted that it had been West’s “long-standing dream” to meet Russia’s President. Subcheva also dished that the “Gold Digger” hitmaker had “expressed great admiration for [Putin] for several years.”

Notably, West is making a major comeback to doing live concerts after the UK government officially banned him. The controversial rapper was slated to headline Wireless Music Festival for a three-day event in July. But the UK authorities reportedly banned him over his past anti-Semitic comments. A few other countries, like Switzerland, Italy, and Poland, also banned him.

The “Heartless” rapper apologized for his behavior. He also released a statement stating: “I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Jewish community in the UK in person, to listen.” He added, “I know words aren’t enough – I’ll have to show change through my actions. If you’re open, I’m here.” (via CNN).
