The Amazing Spider-Man 3 rumor has received a grim update. With fans rooting for Sony to complete the trilogy, the latest update has poured cold water on those hopes.
In recent years, fans have continued to call for a third Amazing Spider-Man movie. With Andrew Garfield starring as the titular hero, the franchise ended abruptly after two movies. Following a poor reception from audiences and underwhelming box-office performance, the franchise was prematurely shut down back in 2014. Now, more than a decade later, rumors have surfaced that Sony could make the much-anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
In a recent social media exchange, a fan asked Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus whether there was any chance of the movie happening. @AlexFromCC replied, “I really don’t see them doing TASM3 folks.” That is likely not the update Andrew Garfield fans were hoping for. However, Perez’s comments remain unconfirmed speculation, and Sony has not yet confirmed or denied anything.
Some MCU fans think Andrew Garfield will return in Avengers instead of The Amazing Spider-Man 3
Despite the update from Perez, fans still hope to see Garfield don the Spider-Man suit. However, many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans believe Garfield could return in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars instead.
@PrimeLightning1 wrote, “Andrew’s TASM3 was NWH. While I’d love to see him in Secret Wars, his character had a pretty good ending already.” @Lorenzo742Ø9292 quipped, “In Secret Wars I’m sure he will return, and perhaps in Spider-Verse 3, but I don’t see them give him his third movie.”
There has been a lot of speculation about Tobey Maguire and Garfield reprising their roles as Spider-Man in the upcoming Avengers films. While fans have already gotten a taste of the same in No Way Home, many hope to see the trio reunite again in an MCU film. However, Marvel hasn’t made any official announcement about the same yet.
