Donald Trump’s campaign team has launched a bizarre new fundraising email. It casts his presidency as part of a divine plan. The message comes as the latest example of the president’s operation blending religious language with donation requests.
Donald Trump uses biblical reference in his fundraising email
The email uses Christian faith to push supporters toward a 24-hour fundraising blitz. Written in Donald Trump’s voice, the message credits his “steady compass of Faith” for guiding him through the 2024 assassination attempt at a campaign rally. A photo paired with the email shows Trump speaking from a podium floating in the sky among clouds.
The email leans heavily on themes of survival and destiny. It opens with declarations written in all caps: “I was never supposed to survive the bullet of an assassin, BUT I DID.” The message continues by stating he was never supposed to be president again, “BUT I AM,” and never supposed to Make America Great Again, “BUT I WILL NEVER SURRENDER!”
The pitch then leans more into its religious framing. “I was saved for this one reason: Make America Great Again,” the email states. “I was made for this, BUT MAGA IS POWERED BY YOU.” From there, the campaign asks supporters to contribute $15 to the “24-HOUR TRUMP FUNDRAISING BLITZ.”
This is not the first time the campaign has used such language. Earlier this month, Trump’s team sent a similar biblical email with the subject line: “I believe He saved me for a reason!!” After all, Trump himself has shown little resistance to divine comparisons (via MeidasNews).
On Easter Sunday, he posted an AI-photo on Truth Social that depicted him as Jesus Christ. It showed Trump placing his hand on a patient in a hospital bed, appearing to heal the person. Around him stood a nurse, a soldier, and a praying woman. Moreover, American symbols filled the frame, including the U.S. flag, bald eagles, the Statue of Liberty, and the Lincoln Memorial. It immediately got backlash in huge numbers, and that too from supporters.
