Meghan Markle is reportedly not supportive of Prince Harry’s efforts to reconcile with Prince William. The former actress reportedly believes her husband should avoid appearing overtly desperate to mend his relationship with his older brother. According to an insider, the Prince of Wales is seen as a major roadblock to Harry’s hopes of being welcomed back into the royal fold. The relationship between the brothers was strained after the Sussexes stepped down as working royals in 2020. The rift deepened further after Harry shared details about his relationship with his brother in the media.
Meghan Markle reportedly doesn’t want Prince Harry to apologize to Prince William to end the feud
A source has claimed that Meghan Markle “can’t stomach” the thought of Prince Harry having to apologize to Prince William to fix their broken relationship. According to the anonymous source, the Duke of Sussex wants to put an end to this longstanding feud and extend an olive branch to his brother. He is willing to accept his share of blame and restore his relationship with William and his wife, Kate Middleton.
The insider dished to Heat, “[Harry] misses his brother and sister-in-law, and wants his father to see his sons at peace. On top of that, Diana’s anniversary is coming up there are all these emotional reasons for wanting to find a way forward.” However, Markle is reportedly not on board with this idea. The former Suits star believes that her husband shouldn’t “throw himself” at William’s feet, given everything they seemingly went through during their tenure.
“[Markle] can’t stomach the idea of Harry totally swallowing all the things that have been done to them and pretending nothing ever happened,” the insider said, believing that the Duchess “doesn’t think that’s healthy, or the least bit fair.” They continued, “She’s telling Harry that if and when he makes peace with William, it needs to be for the right reasons, with a mutual sense of contrition. They both need to sit down, be adults about it, own their respective sides and actually hear each other out.”
