CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister Scores New Gig With Some of Hollywood’s Biggest Stars

CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister has secured a new opportunity around the upcoming Emmy Awards. The role will allow her to meet and interview some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. She has been part of the multinational media company since 2023, when she joined CNN to cover entertainment from Los Angeles.

Elizabeth Wagmeister’s new CNN gig brings her face-to-face with Emmy favorites

Wagmeister will reportedly host a pre-Emmy interview series titled Coming Up exclusively for CNN. She will speak with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars who have been nominated for the Emmys. Her conversations will focus on their performances, careers, and achievements in the entertainment industry. The opportunity will bring her face-to-face with celebrities such as Colman Domingo, Paul W. Downs, Allison Janney, Katherine LaNasa, Ariana Madix, Matthew Rhys, and Jessica Williams.

The series will air during the Emmy voting window, which starts on August 17 and ends on August 26. The Emmy Awards official ceremony will take place on September 14. Ahead of this gig, Wagmeister also covered the Oscars red carpet and shared her experience and preparation for the event with ShowbizExpress. She reflected on how challenging it can be to prepare for red carpets while addressing the perception that covering them is all fun and games.

“The reality of a red carpet is, you see how long it is here, and you have no idea who you’re going to get. So that means that you have to prepare to speak with every single nominee, every single presenter, every single cast member, producer, songwriter from the films, even if they’re not individual nominees. So you have to be ready for everything,” the anchor said.

Before joining CNN, Wagmeister worked with several well-known media companies, including TV Guide, Hollywood Life and Variety. In 2019, she made it to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
