Martha Stewart’s mention of Meghan Markle could reportedly stem from her loyalty to King Charles. According to a source, the 85-year-old celebrity’s simple statement about her party scenes was allegedly a swipe at the duchess. Their reported feud has been in the news for a while, especially since she also bagged a deal similar to Markle’s former Netflix deal. It was reported that Stewart’s remark allegedly landed the “Suits” alum in hot water.
Martha Stewart could’ve wanted to impress King Charles with Meghan Markle swipe, per source
Martha Stewart allegedly wanted to impress King Charles with her swipes on Meghan Markle. In her recent interview with PEOPLE, the TV personality shared a party detail. She said, “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”
While it seemed like an anecdote, sources claimed that Stewart slyly took a dig at Markle. She allegedly wanted to make it evident that the Duchess of Sussex was talking about her private meeting with King Charles. An insider told Closer, “She’s also a huge anglophile; she adores King Charles and was falling all over herself to impress him a few months ago, so it’s not hard to imagine that has something to do with this too.”
They hinted that Stewart might have wanted to impress the monarch with her statement. According to the source, her move was “so demoralizing” for Markle as the latter was “adamant that this never happened.” However, she reportedly has no strategy to defend herself.
“Her only reasonable option is silence because anything she says will only draw more attention to it, so she simply has to swallow her feelings and use them as fuel to outdo Martha at her own game,” they added.
