The Rolling Loud trailer has dropped online and shows Owen Wilson in full panic mode. The comedy follows an overprotective dad who makes a risky parenting decision at a huge hip-hop festival.
The official synopsis reads, “Inspired by a true story, an overprotective father makes the worst parenting decision of his life when he sneaks his 13-year-old son into Rolling Loud, the world’s biggest hip-hop music festival in Miami. This sets off a chaotic adventure with his reckless co-worker and an eccentric festival volunteer as they navigate massive wild crowds, tight security, and their own complicated family dynamics.”
What’s happening in the Rolling Loud trailer?
The trailer shows Wilson’s character sneaking his son into the festival, which is headlined by Travis Scott. His plan quickly falls apart when the boy disappears into a crowd of 60,000 people outside Hard Rock Stadium.
From there, the dad has to find his son while dealing with mosh pits, backstage chaos and the deafening festival crowds. He also crosses paths with some unusual characters played by Matt Rife, Christine Ko, Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign and Ski Mask the Slump God. Travis Scott appears as himself in the film and gives Wilson’s character some blunt advice about being a father.
Rolling Loud The Movie is directed by Jeremy Garelick, who co-wrote the screenplay with Zion Garelick. The film is rated R and will hit U.S. theaters on October 2, 2026, through Ketchup Entertainment.
Wilson and Scott lead the cast alongside Christian Convery, Henry Winkler, Jolene and several hip-hop artists playing versions of themselves.
Filming started in December 2024 at Rolling Loud Miami. Wilson even surprised fans by joining Travis Scott onstage at Hard Rock Stadium. Additional production took place in Atlanta in early 2025. The teaser was later shown on May 8, 2026, at Rolling Loud Orlando’s Loud Theater.
