Sean “Diddy” Combs is taking legal action against a former videographer who previously accused him of sexual assault. The latest lawsuit centers on footage that Combs claims was taken without permission.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs accuses Rodney Jones of taking footage intended for his documentary
According to TMZ, Combs has countersued Rodney Jones, alleging that the videographer stole computer drives containing footage. That was intended for a documentary about the music mogul’s life.
Combs claims Jones used his position of trust to access footage belonging to him. He alleges that Jones copied the material and later sold it to Netflix and 50 Cent for a competing documentary.
The lawsuit focuses on footage recorded during a December 2022 trip to St. Barts. Combs claims Jones traveled with him and his family as one of several videographers. He also alleges that Jones stayed on the yacht to remain close to him.
According to the lawsuit, Combs believes Jones later accessed another videographer’s workspace and took the footage. Combs claims Jones then concealed the alleged theft to avoid suspicion.
Combs further alleges that Jones sold the footage to Netflix. He claims the material appeared in “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” a documentary produced with 50 Cent. The countersuit also accuses Jones of defamation. Combs claims Jones repeated allegations from his earlier lawsuit in the documentary.
Jones previously sued Combs in 2024. He accused the music star of sexual assault and alleged that Combs groped his genitals and touched his anus. Jones also claimed that Combs would appear naked in front of him.
Jones made additional allegations against Combs’ son, Justin Combs, as well as Cuba Gooding Jr. and Stevie J. All three denied the allegations. Combs now claims Jones filed his sexual assault lawsuit as part of an effort to obtain additional money. He alleges Jones wanted more compensation for what Combs described as “producer services” after Jones had already been paid.
The latest countersuit adds another legal dispute to the allegations surrounding Combs. However, the claims remain allegations and the filing does not establish that Jones stole or sold the footage.
