Michael Shannon reportedly gets married again
As confirmed by Page Six, actor Michael Shannon married photographer Christy Bush in Athens, Georgia, earlier this month, years after Shannon’s low-key divorce from Kate Arrington. The newly-married couple secured a marriage license on July 27. The document has now been submitted to the county court and is awaiting finalization by a judge.
The wedding reportedly took place in Bush’s hometown and included “famous friends and industry people.” Details about when Shannon and the “Familiar: 30 Years of Photographs” creator started dating or got engaged haven’t been shared. The couple has, however, been photographed attending public functions together.
The newlyweds first drew attention as a couple in October 2025 during a trip to the Pasaquan art compound outside Buena Vista, Georgia. Months later in January, they were at the Hermès autumn/winter 2026 men’s runway show for Paris Fashion Week.
This is the second marriage for each of them. Michael Shannon and his ex-wife started dating in 2002 after meeting in Chicago’s theater world. They welcomed Sylvia “Sylvie” in 2008 and Marion “Mae” in 2014. The couple tied the knot in New York in 2017 and divorced in 2022. The 52-year-old’s last public sighting with Kate Arrington was back in November 2024.
Meanwhile, Christy Bush had a prior marriage to Sam Fogarino, 58, who plays drums for the band Interpol. Together, they have one daughter, Francesca “Frankie,” born in 2009.
