Donald Trump doesn’t seem to appreciate the criticism he has received over his numerous ongoing construction schemes, with his grass project in Washington DC becoming the latest point of contention among citizens. In a recent interview, the POTUS talked about “changing the grass” in Washington parks, insinuating that the general backlash around the project has been completely unwarranted.

While speaking with conservative radio host Wayne Allyn Root in a post-midnight phone interview, the president shared his plans to refurbish the grass in DC by suggesting that the region’s flora is a living entity just like human beings.
“We’re changing the grass in the parks,” Donald Trump noted (via The Daily Beast). “You know, people laugh, ‘Oh, he’s changing the grass.’ Like, it’s a big deal. It’s a big deal. The grass, you know, grass has lives just like people have lives. And this grass has been there for like 50, 60 years. And we’re doing a job. This place looks so beautiful.”
Trump added that Washington DC “went from the worst city in the whole country to the best city in the whole country,” ever since he started his presidential term.
Root, a prominent right-wing conspiracy theorist, agreed with the POTUS’s analysis in response, stating that he has witnessed significant improvement in the capital city since Trump’s arrival. “[There] used to be homeless everywhere, scary at night,” the political commentator stated, adding that he hasn’t seen “no homeless” in the city during his visits in the past few months.
In addition to the grass project in Washington, Donald Trump has received criticism for focusing too much on renovation plans, especially for the White House. A recent report even claimed that Trump has turned his attention towards construction projects, which include a new White House ballroom and a highly debated Triumphal Arch, among others, to distract himself from his faltering approval rating.
