Saturday Night Live might be facing a major shake-up as a behind-the-scenes figure is bidding farewell to the show. Although he rarely appeared in the spotlight, he has shaped SNL for three long decades as a music booker.
Brian Siedlecki joined the show back in 1996. While he started the journey as an intern, his work helped the show maintain its glory. As per The Hollywood Reporter, SNL has decided not to renew its contract with the talent booker. He started as an intern when the American show was in Season 21. In 2017, at the 69th Emmy Awards, Siedlecki was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series as an associate producer for SNL.
Siedlecki has reportedly declined a request to share any opinion on the matter. NBC, too, has declined to share any comment, stating that the broadcast network “doesn’t comment on staffing.”
Alongside Siedlecki, SNL has two other talent bookers who have been engaged with the show for a long span of time. Keri Powers is a booker who has been in the business with SNL since 2014, and Rebecca Schwartz has been working with the show since 2015.

In this span of 30 long years, Brian Siedlecki has managed to bring major names to the show. According to reports, his very first booking was Nelly Furtado. Furtado’s hit song I’m Like a Bird released in 2000, and Siedlecki booked her for SNL in 2001. Since then, he has booked legendary figures like Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen for the show. Alongside them, he brought Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and several other stars to SNL.
After the conclusion of Season 51 in May 2026, Chloe Fineman parted ways with the show. “Seven years is kind of like the classic way [at SNL], and then like right as my contract was up, this amazing David E. Kelley opportunity came in like completely out of the blue. I did a little chemistry read and it was off to the races; it just felt like a perfect time. I’m really proud of everything, but it’s hard. I’m genuinely really good friends with everybody, and I genuinely couldn’t love that job more. So it’s really bittersweet, but I’m gonna be in New York,” shared Fineman with The Hollywood Reporter, reflecting on her departure from SNL.
Season 52 of the show is scheduled to begin on September 26, 2026, on NBC.
