Stephen King’s 1992 horror film Sleepwalkers is set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will be removed from the streaming platform on September 1, 2026.
Written by King and directed by Mick Garris, Sleepwalkers was released in theaters on April 10, 1992. The horror film follows Charles and Mary Brady, a mother and son who belong to a mysterious species of shapeshifting creatures that feed on the life force of young female virgins.
After settling in a quiet Indiana town, Charles enrolls at a local high school and becomes interested in Tanya Robertson, a kind and trusting student. While Tanya sees Charles as a potential love interest, he secretly plans to use her life force to keep himself and his mother alive. Their growing relationship soon puts Tanya in danger as the Bradys’ true nature begins to surface.
Brian Krause stars as Charles Brady, with Alice Krige playing Mary Brady and Mädchen Amick portraying Tanya Robertson. The film’s cast also includes Lyman Ward as Donald Robertson, Cindy Pickett as Helen Robertson, and Ron Perlman as Captain Soames, among others.
Sleepwalkers received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently holds a 32 percent critics’ score based on 19 reviews. Meanwhile, its audience score is also 32 percent. Jose Solís of Common Sense Media reported, “Wildly campy and often ridiculous, this horror oddity plays less like a scary movie and more like a grotesque cult curiosity.”
