Jeremy Renner‘s 2018 comedy, Tag, has become a hit on streaming and has risen to the top of the charts on HBO Max. Directed by Jeff Tomsic, the movie, apart from the Hawkeye star, featured a stellar cast including Jon Hamm, Isla Fisher, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, and many more.
Jeremy Renner’s Tag finds new audience on HBO Max
Jeremy Renner and Jon Hamm’s action-comedy movie, Tag, has found success on streaming after its June 2018 theatrical release.
According to a report by Flix Patrol, the movie has claimed the 4th spot in the top 10 movies list on the streaming platform HBO Max. The movie falls behind The Drama, which is in the top spot, Mortal Kombat 2, and The Strangers: Chapter 2. Tag has been in the top 4 for 19 days now.
Following its release, Tag achieved moderate box-office success on a $28 million budget. It opened with $14.9 million and went on to collect $54 million at the domestic box office. Internationally, the movie earned around $23.5 million, which brought Tag’s lifetime collection to $78 million. On the other hand, it received an average reception from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
On the Tomatometer, the movie received a 55 percent score based on critics’ reviews. It earned a score of 57 percent on the Popcornmeter based on audience reviews. The majority of moviegoers mentioned in their reviews that they were impressed by the cast’s chemistry.
The movie also turned out to be a memorable one for Renner. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly before the release of Tag, he revealed that he broke both his arms during filming a chair stunt. He said that he realized something was wrong, so he decided to visit the hospital. Renner added, “They said it was broken, so I got them wrapped up, and then I went back to work.”
