Prince William and Prince Harry could reportedly set their differences aside and begin a reconciliation for one very royal reason. The brothers have seemingly remained estranged since the Sussexes stepped down as working royals in 2020.
Their rift has only deepened following Meghan Markle and Harry’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey and the Duke of Sussex’s 2023 memoir, Spare.
Prince William and Prince Harry could eventually support each other’s causes without rebuilding their former friendship
Prince William and Prince Harry could reportedly eventually reunite and repair their fractured relationship. Royal expert Afua Hagan has predicted that as King Charles continues to age in his role as Monarch, the brothers could set aside their differences for his sake.
She revealed to The Royal Observer, “There is no benefit for either side for there to be this division in the royal family. Especially as we move into the reign of [a future] King William, what he wants really is to put a footnote on that the whole saga of the royal story.”
According to Hagan, William, who is the future heir to the throne, could possibly take the first step to patch things up with Harry. The brothers are aware that their father is ageing and could possibly bury the hatchet to usher in a new era of monarchy.
Hagan explained: “It’s not going to be a band of brothers, and they’re not going to be skipping in front of Buckingham Palace. But [we could see] a new era where they are respectful of each other, where they support each other’s endeavours, like the Invictus Games, like the Earthshot Prize.”
The royal commentator also shared that Prince William and Harry’s respective children are the future of the monarchy. This means the brothers will not have to seemingly compete with each other but can possibly be allies.
Hagan stated: “It doesn’t have to compete, and they don’t have to brief against each other. And each side, each couple, each family can be doing their brilliant work, supporting each other and not having to argue with each other, not having to be on opposite sides.”
