Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s next interview with Oprah Winfrey could be drastically different from their last controversy-filled appearance. The Sussexes sat down for an exclusive interview with the legendary host in 2021, where they discussed stepping away from the royal family. Now, as per new reports, the Sussexes are eyeing another appearance. The couple plan to discuss Markle’s As Ever lifestyle brand and Harry’s philanthropic work.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may take a more forward-looking approach if another Oprah sit-down ever happens, expert says
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly looking forward to discussing more positive things if they sit down for another Oprah exclusive interview. The Royal Observer previously reported that Winfrey is unwilling to host the Sussexes again, fearing it may lead to unnecessary negativity.
Rob Shuter previously shared: “Harry and Meghan would love a Part Two. They’re talking again because they both have projects to promote, and they know interviews generate headlines. They hoped Oprah might be interested in a fresh chapter about healing. She isn’t.”
Royal commentator Afua Hagan agreed and revealed to the outlet that a part two could possibly focus on a possible reconciliation, healing, and positivity. Hagan said: “If there was to be another Oprah interview … it wouldn’t be another look back story. It wouldn’t be a kind of another. ‘This is what happened’. No, no, no. It will be; ‘This is where we are now, and this is the future’.”
She added: “But again, I just don’t think it’s something that they would be interested in, and I don’t think it’s something that’s slated on their table at all.”
Hagan also shared that she is certain the Sussexes are not going to disclose anything about their private reunion with the King. She shared: “I think absolutely we will not hear about it. We won’t hear about it from them. We won’t hear about it from the King and Queen. Absolutely, and I hope it stays that way, genuinely.”
