Anna Faris is looking back at some of the uncertainty she felt while raising her son Jack. Even as her career moved forward, motherhood sometimes left the actress questioning whether she was doing things right. Years later, Faris sees that chapter differently. Watching Jack grow has helped quiet some of those doubts and changed how she views herself as a parent.
Anna Faris recalled feeling out of place with other parents
Faris opened up about motherhood in an exclusive interview with E! News. While discussing the parents in her son’s social circle, she admitted, “I didn’t always feel like I fit in.” The 49-year-old shares 13-year-old Jack with ex-husband Chris Pratt. Faris said feeling out of place contributed to a broader sense that she might be getting motherhood wrong. She even questioned at times whether she was naturally suited to being a mom.
Her perspective has shifted as Jack has grown older. Faris said she is proud of his strong sense of justice and described him as fascinating. Still, a little parental uncertainty remains. “I hope I’m doing OK,” she said.
Faris has offered similar glimpses into their bond before. Earlier this year, she described Jack as emotionally steady and said his willingness to ask her for advice helps reassure her about the job she is doing as a parent.
Jack has also spent memorable time with both parents this year. He joined Faris at the “Scary Movie 6” premiere in June. Before that, Pratt traveled through Tokyo with Jack while promoting “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” calling the father-son experience special.
Faris and Pratt have continued co-parenting since finalizing their divorce in 2018. The former spouses came together for Jack’s sixth-grade graduation in 2025 alongside Pratt’s wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
Faris has also spoken candidly about the scrutiny surrounding her divorce, explaining that her “Unqualified” podcast gave her an outlet for connection during that period.
Her latest comments focus on a quieter parenting struggle. Faris may once have wondered whether she belonged among fellow moms, but seeing the person Jack is becoming appears to have given her greater confidence.
