Andy Cohen shared an awkward run-in on Friday’s episode of his Andy Cohen Daddy Diaries podcast, and listeners have not let it go.
The Bravo star said a nervous fan approached him on the street for a photo. The fan then mistakenly pulled up what Cohen described as “very clearly a d—k pic” on his phone.
Cohen did not look away. “Wait a minute,” he remembered saying. “I want to see that.”
The 58-year-old joked that the fan was “just a random, nice guy” and “not [his] type” before admitting he “zoomed in” on the image. He then complimented him. “You look so great!” Cohen recalled telling the surprised admirer, calling this the “appropriate thing to do to make him feel good.”
The fan, still visibly flustered and “shaking,” asked again if they could take a picture together. “What do you have to be nervous about?” Cohen quipped. “You just showed me your d—k. How could you be nervous now? Look where we’ve been.”
They ultimately snapped a selfie before going their separate ways. “Our photo’s cute, bye! Thanks for showing me your d—k,” Cohen called out, and the man answered, “Anytime!”
However, later in the episode, he began second-guessing whether telling the story publicly was the right call. “I’ve had some shame-related feelings about me speaking so freely,” he said, telling himself, “Maybe you don’t have to share every thought on the radio.”
He said he “didn’t think twice” about the Andy Cohen fan encounter until listeners started DMing him directly to complain. One urged him to apologize publicly, arguing he should have ignored the photo entirely, especially given he is in a relationship. That commenter said his boyfriend made the interaction “all the more inappropriate.”
Podcast guest and comedian Sarah Colonna joked that “zooming in on the photo maybe was a step too far.”
Still, the criticism did not bother him. Cohen laughed at the message and clarified that “The first person [he] told about this story when it happened was [his] fella.” He added, “And he thought it was hilarious.”
He has been dating Sobieski, 42, since last summer. The two went public in June after photos surfaced of them celebrating Cohen’s birthday, then made it Instagram official days later.
