Warner Bros. released the new poster, showing Sally and Gillian Owens standing back-to-back, with candles, dark skies, and mystical imagery. The studio also released a synopsis, teasing the sisters’ return to a world of moonlit spells and powerful ancestral magic. This time, they must confront the family curse that’s haunted their bloodline for generations. Fans of the original classic can expect plenty of fun, drama, and spellbinding mayhem.

Practical Magic 2’s story is set 25 years after the first film, following three generations of the Owens family as they face a new crisis. A shocking discovery of their family’s past and the true origins of their magic comes to light.
The mystery begins when Sally’s daughter Kylie uncovers buried family secrets and develops dark abilities of her own. As the curse grows stronger on the family, Sally, Gillian, and their aunts must travel to the United Kingdom to trace their magic back to its source and protect the next generation.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as Sally and Gillian Owens alongside Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing, who reprise their roles as the Owens aunts. The film also stars new cast members, including Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, and Evan Rachel Wood. Sandra and Nicole are also producing the film with Denise Di Novi.
Directed by Susanne Bier, Practical Magic 2 arrives nearly three decades after the 1988 original became a cult classic. The movie is based on The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman. Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett, and Kelly Marcel co-wrote the screenplay.
Warner Bros. will release the sequel in theaters on September 10, 2026.
