MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow has clarified reports that Meghan Markle was “frustrated” on set. Yeow spoke about Markle’s appearance on the cooking show during a radio interview. She not only praised the Suits star but also expressed her sympathy after witnessing the intense scrutiny the Duchess of Sussex continues to face in the media. For those unversed, Markle appeared as a special celebrity judge on the July 26 episode of MasterChef Australia.

MasterChef judge Poh Ling Yeow dished about her experience of working with Meghan Markle during a special appearance on the Nathan, Nat & Shaun radio show. Yeow said, “We had such a lovely time with her. She was a model citizen. Like, honestly, no fuss. Hung out with us, didn’t run, scurry away into her green room, was just completely sort of engaged with the whole process. And knows her food.”
The celebrated MasterChef judge also clarified that she has “nothing to complain about at all” from her shooting experience with Markle. Yeow also expressed her shock that the rumors received so much media attention and became a topic of discussion online.
Yeow remarked, “It’s ridiculous. It’s the first time anything like that kind happened to me, so it’s been very eye-opening for me to see what she cops every day. It’s really full-on.”
For those unversed, News.com.au had previously reported that Markle and her team were “very frustrated” by her introduction on the show. The former actress was reportedly not happy about being referred to by her royal title during her introduction. The source also claimed that they were outside the studio when the introduction was filmed and didn’t hear it until the promo aired.
Australian outlet New Idea added to the above reports and cited a different source, stating that Yeow was hurt by the controversy. Moreover, a source close to Markle also assured that “she had a great time” shooting the special episode and that any reporting to the contrary is “false” (via PEOPLE).
