Prince William and Kate Middleton’s charity organization is doing much better in the US than the Sussexes’. This is evidenced by the recently released accounts, which highlight extensive funding from America. The report also showcases what puts the Waleses’ organization in a much stronger position while revealing the challenges Prince Harry has faced in his philanthropic efforts.

Daily Mail’s Richard Eden provided an insight into the royal foundation’s accounts filed this week with the Charity Commission. He reported that the charity received donations from the royals’ American friends, which are looked after by a separate entity established in 2011 and show a staggering amount. He noted that they received around $11.7 million USD from their US branch alone in 2024.
“The generosity of their US supporters is so great that it accounts for 44 per cent of the foundation’s total reported income of £19.6 million (around $26.3 million USD) in 2025,” he further added. Their charity backs several causes, including William’s Homewards initiative, Middleton’s Early Years campaign, and wildlife causes. He further pointed out how they spent $22.2 million USD on charitable projects but also received $14.2 million in reserves. A boost in employment was also noted, which indicates that their charity seems to be in a much better position than that of the Sussexes.
Contrarily, Archewell, aka Archewell Philanthropies, founded in 2020, underwent a reset last year, which led to restructuring and layoffs. However, the Sussexes remain committed to expanding their philanthropic efforts. “Harry had something of an annus horribilis last year when it came to his charitable endeavors. Much to his distress, he stepped down as patron of Sentebale, the charity he co-founded in 2006 for children with HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. He concluded early in 2025 that his relationship with the organization’s chairman, Sophie Chandauka, had deteriorated ‘beyond repair’,” Eden wrote, referring to the setback Harry faced over the years.
