Kate Middleton reclaims Tatler’s Best Dressed Brit title
The magazine has described the Princess of Wales as “Britain’s chicest figure” whose outfits “light up royal occasions.” Additionally, the magazine celebrated the princess’s recovery and quick ascent in the fashion department after her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
According to People, Middleton has topped the list countless times before. However, the 2025 season saw Lady Lola Bute and Jazzy de Lisser as winners. The 2024 title went to another royal member – Princess Beatrice. Tatler had described her as “princess of perfection,” and a “beacon of sartorial elegance, pairing vintage-inspired cuts with fresh-from-the-catwalk glamour.”
Princess Kate had started her fashion icon phase when she appeared at the BAFTA awards. Her fashionista era also includes a summertime chic look at a charity polo match. Middleton has made great strides in this domain, picking midi-length dresses paired with elaborate headpieces as her signature for royal visits.
Her most regal look can be attributed to the time she appeared at the Nigerian state banquet in March. Here, she paired Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot with a green gown by Andrew Gn.
Middleton has also taken up the habit of repeating outfits. One of her most repeated fashion items may be her go-to Penelope Chilvers long tassel boots.
In fact, she was seen recycling outfits on the eve of the former Prince Andrew’s arrest in February. Fashion stylist Lisa Talbot has called the move “very intentional”. Talbot believes that rewearing old ensembles communicates steadiness and humility. “In situations where public sensitivity is heightened, the most powerful style statement can often be restraint,” she added.
Middleton has been known to take notes from her late mother-in-law Queen Elizabeth. The late Queen recommended wearing bright colours to stand out in the crowd.
