During an exclusive interview with OK! Magazine, Shannon alleged that Hefner stopped her from traveling to Rome for a bigger part in a movie directed by Sofia Coppola. She claimed he then placed her on “room arrest” because women living at the mansion had to return by midnight.
Shannon alleged that the curfew ensured residents were present for Hefner’s late-night group encounters. “It was a rule he demanded everyone follow,” she told the outlet. She also recalled cameras following her from morning until night and described the overall environment as “extremely controlled.”
The movie opportunity appears to have involved Coppola’s 2010 drama “Somewhere.” Focus Features’ official production notes identify Kristina and her twin, Karissa Shannon, as cast members. The studio said Coppola selected them after a friend brought the sisters to her attention. They played pole-dancing twins named Bambi and Cindy. This connection is an inference because Shannon did not name the movie in the new interview.
Shannon’s latest allegations echo an earlier People interview in which the sisters said filming obligations and their roles as Hefner’s girlfriends limited other career opportunities. They moved into the mansion at 18 and later appeared on the final season of “The Girls Next Door.”
The former Playmate also challenged the idea that Hefner created her career. Shannon said she had modeled for WingHouse advertisements before Playboy, although she acknowledged that the magazine brought her mainstream attention. She credited therapy and psychiatric care with helping her process the difficult parts of that period.
Her account adds to the wider Playboy Mansion controversy. Crystal Hefner has spoken about regretting her marriage, while Holly Madison has made allegations about drugs and emotional abuse. Kendra Wilkinson has also said she wants to leave her Playboy pinup identity behind.
In context, Shannon used “room arrest” to describe an alleged internal mansion punishment, not a criminal or court-ordered restriction. Her account remains an allegation about rules she says Hefner enforced when she challenged his curfew.
