According to the District Attorney’s office, the late Celeste Rivas Hernandez, allegedly murdered by D4vd, has taken a new turn. For those unversed, the 14-year-old girl went missing in April 2024. In September 2025, her dismembered body remains were found in the back of the Tesla, which was registered in the singer’s name.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez was not pregnant when she died, according to DA
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office revealed to ABC News that officials do not believe Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whom the media linked to singer D4vd, was pregnant when she died. Prosecutors allege that the 21-year-old singer killed Hernandez after she threatened to expose their relationship to the world and destroy his budding music career.
A judge ruled on Monday that there was sufficient evidence to put Burke on trial for the fatal killing and dismemberment of Rivas Hernandez.
Notably, Los Angeles Judge Charlaine Olmedo ruled that prosecutors presented ample evidence at a preliminary hearing to move the case forward to trial. The accused will now face trial for murder and unlawful dismemberment of human remains.
The court scheduled an arraignment for the 21-year-old singer for August 31, and officials could begin the trial 60 days later. Burke previously pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Previously, Rivas Hernandez’s parents’ attorney, Patrick Steinfeld, slammed D4vd’s legal team for trying to pin all the blame on the late teenager. Steinfeld explained that the opposition’s arguments during the preliminary hearing appalled the family.
Burke’s team argued that Hernandez may have claimed her own life. He also pushed back against D4vd’s claim that the late teenager told him she was 18 (via TMZ).
