Donald Trump delivered an hour-long speech at White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, which took place at the Waldorf Astoria on July 24. At one point, the president joked about running for a “fourth term,” and took a few jabs at the news industry.

“You people have no idea how lucky you are,” Trump told journalists at the event. He added, “When I’m gone, you’re all going to be broke.” The President further mentioned that their “business model” would come to an end. “There’s not going to be anybody to report on. Nobody gives a d*** about anybody else,” he continued.

The president added, “That’s why tonight to show just how much I care about the press, and I want to save your ratings.

Trump went on to put on a red cap with the words “TRUMP 2028” written on it. He then jokingly declared, “I’m pleased to announce my intention to, and this is somewhat of a scoop, my intention to run for a fourth term as president of the United States. I will be doing that.”

The president added, “I won three times. Now I’m going to do it again. It should be easy. I’m getting very good at running for president.”

Trump proceeded to remark about term limits. “And all joking aside, I do think we need term limits in Congress,” he said. “I think term limits are very important because I see what’s happening.” Citing an anecdote involving a senator’s interaction with his wife, the President insisted on the necessity of having term limits.
