According to sources, Prince Harry will be offered a stay at Buckingham Palace during his next visit in September. The offer is perceived as an olive branch from King Charles to Harry. It is reported that Harry will be back in the UK for various engagements in the annual WellChild Awards.
Sources reveal that Harry’s earlier delay in confirming arrangements caused Charles’ patience to snap. The delay in question occurred before his recent UK visit, where it was reported that Harry was offered palace accommodation with security on the property.
However, it was withdrawn at the last moment, with palace staffers claiming that the Duke of Sussex failed to confirm the stay by the given deadline. Thus, they weren’t able to make accommodation arrangements. Harry then had to stay at a private accommodation. Contrarily, Harry’s spokesperson claimed that he was trying to sort out security concerns first before officially accepting the offer.
As it appears, this time the same situation won’t be repeated. The sources claim that Harry will provide the royal household and security with 28 days’ advance notice of his arrival. It remains unclear whether the Duke of Sussex would be joined by Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet.
Royal author Robert Jobson views this gesture by the monarch as a way of easing tensions between the royal family and Sussexes. He said, “Obviously there does appear to be a sense that it’s a gradual process and things are improving” (via The Sun).
