Courtney Stodden is speaking out about a comedy sketch she filmed with Jason Alexander more than a decade ago, saying she now views the experience as deeply disturbing and questioning why no adult intervened.

Courtney Stodden revisited a 2012 Funny or Die sketch she filmed with Jason Alexander when she was 17. In a July 20 Instagram post, Stodden shared an image from “The Donny Clay Show With Courtney Stodden” and questioned why the adults involved allowed the scene to continue.
Stodden said Alexander repeatedly moved a phone across her chest while his character joked about finding a signal. She also recalled a line in which he referred to what he wanted to do after she turned 18.
“The older I get, the more impossible this is to understand,” Stodden wrote. She said she sees a teenager whose body became part of an adult joke.
The original sketch remains available on YouTube. Alexander played fictional host Donny Clay, while Stodden appeared with Doug Hutchison, whom she had married at 16 when he was 51.
Stodden said adults signed the contracts, Hutchison received the payment, and production continued. “I was the only child in the room,” she wrote. “I felt so alone.” She also stressed that she lacked the legal authority to make those decisions herself. Her account challenges coverage that treated her as an adult participant instead of a minor.
Alexander apologized in a statement to TMZ. The “Seinfeld” star called the sketch inappropriate, said he regretted participating, and offered Stodden his “sincerest apologies” for any harm or distress.
Stodden connected the experience to her campaign against child marriage. She supports California Assembly Bill 1267, which would set 18 as the minimum marriage age without parental or judicial exceptions. Her marriage to Hutchison went through a separation before they reconciled. They finalized their divorce in 2020.
The resurfaced sketch now carries a different meaning for Stodden. Her post asks why no adult stopped the scene and argues that stronger laws should fully protect children before they must defend themselves as adults.
