Two men, one driving a Cybertruck and the other driving a white SUV, snapped at each other in a road rage incident. A woman captured the altercation from the driver’s seat of her car in a video that sees an older man stepping out of his car and attacking the Tesla owner through the open window. The Cybertruck driver wasn’t having it either, though, and the fight escalates.
What led up to the fight
The footage taken by the woman and posted on TikTok by @loganwannerr begins with the older man in a salmon-colored cap and shirt getting out of his vehicle and stomping over to the Cybertruck. The woman is surprised he stopped his SUV in the middle of the lane, despite the stalled traffic.
He grabs what looks to be a phone from the driver’s hands through the window and chucks it at the pavement. As he runs back to the safety of his car, the driver gets out of his Cybertruck, picks up his phone, and marches over. He attempts to open the door by pulling on the handle with both hands, but when he finds it locked, he smashes the side mirror and runs off to his vehicle.
Escalating the fight further, the older man drives his vehicle right behind the Cybertruck as if he wants to smash its rear end as he is being taunted. The video cuts to the Tesla driver getting out of his car again so he can pick up the broken mirror pieces on the ground and hurl it at the white SUV, which goes around and pulls ahead to an open spot.
At that point, cooler heads might have prevailed, but the video shows the older man wanting the last word. He emerges from his car with a metal bar in his hand and taunts the Cybertruck driver with the weapon. The two exchange heated words at each other before the footage ends.
Commenters on the video were split when it came to defending the older man or the Cybertruck driver. While the older man seemed to be one who instigated the fight, the creator of the video provided context to what led up to the incident.
“He was cut off,” she explained. “But then he was riding the other guys a** and then the Tesla guy threw something at his car at the light.”
Still, others users were frustrated by how angry people get on the road and that there was no need for them to escalate the fight that far. One wrote, “No matter how justified you are or how in the right you think you are is never a good idea to get out of your car in anger, in traffic. That’s a good way to die.”
