Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham is preparing to honor the rock legend with its first-ever “Ozzy Day.” The celebration will honor the memory of the Black Sabbath singer, who died at the age of 76 last year.
The event will unite fans with music, art, and tributes throughout the city. Birmingham will be marking the legacy of one of its most iconic figures.

Central BID Birmingham announced that “Ozzy Day” will take place on July 22, marking the first anniversary of Ozzy Osbourne’s death. The event will take place in Birmingham city centre, supported by OPUS, Birmingham City Council, and Birmingham New Street and Westside BID. The event will feature live music, public art, and activities celebrating Osbourne’s life.
Visitors will also be able to explore landmarks linked to his legacy, including the Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge.
Bostin Brass, the five-piece brass band that performed during Osbourne’s funeral procession, will return for special pop-up performances. The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will also be performing at the Bullring. The mechanical bull, Ozzy the Bull, will be getting a special makeover for the occasion at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The event will showcase Osbourne’s links to his hometown.
Sam Watson, Chair of Central BID Birmingham, said “Ozzy Day” reflects the city’s united effort to honor the late singer. The event will bring together businesses, cultural organisations and public places throughout the city, he said.
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at age 76. According to a death certificate obtained by PEOPLE, his causes of death included out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction. The death certificate also listed coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction as contributing causes.
Earlier this month, Sharon Osbourne remembered their 46th wedding anniversary with an emotional Instagram tribute, writing, “Forever my husband. Forever my heart.”
