Prince Harry Branded a ‘True Leader’ Amid Major Setbacks — Report

Prince Harry has earned praise from colleagues and veterans for staying committed to the Invictus Games despite facing a series of personal and legal challenges during his recent UK visit. Those closest to the organization say the Duke of Sussex never lost sight of its mission and describe his dedication to the veteran community as unwavering.

Prince Harry’s dedication to Invictus Games reportedly praised by friends

Speaking to People, David Wiseman, a senior figure within the Invictus Games Foundation and a former serviceman, said Prince Harry continued to prioritize the Invictus Games even as headlines about his UK trip focused on legal setbacks, security concerns, and accommodation arrangements. “Bearing in mind how much he’s got going on in different facets of his life, he’s showing how dedicated he is to the Invictus movement,” Wiseman said. According to Wiseman, Harry has devoted significant time and energy to preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

“Harry’s committed so much of his time and energy to the Invictus Games Foundation, events and everything that’s building towards the Games in 2027,” he said. “These aren’t small things — they take up quite a lot of bandwidth, and we’re incredibly grateful that he’s so committed, so dedicated, so passionate about the Invictus movement.”

David Wiseman, who has accompanied Prince Harry on visits to countries including Ukraine and Nigeria, said the Duke’s connection with service personnel remains one of his greatest strengths. “I’ve said this before: he’s through and through a true leader in the international veteran community,” Wiseman said. “You can see that when he’s in a room with the veterans, he comes alive and he gets his energy from that. It’s been a distracting week for him, but I’m also positive he will have gained a lot of energy by hanging out with people with whom he has so much affinity.”

David Wiseman experienced the impact of military service firsthand. He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest while serving in Afghanistan in 2009 and later recovered at Selly Oak Hospital while his wife was six months pregnant.
