The first teaser trailer for Tony Gilroy’s new film Behemoth! has been released, starring Pedro Pascal as a cellist. The screenwriter-director was previously praised for bringing the Star Wars spin-off Andor and the Bourne trilogy to life, among other celebrated works like Michael Clayton.
The drama film‘s synopsis reads, “A gifted cellist, Alex Serian (Pedro Pascal), returns home to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road. Music, which has been the constant, all-consuming river of his life, begins to carry Alex on an adventure that will change him forever.”

The trailer opens with Pascal as Alex, a cellist returning to Los Angeles, being greeted by old acquaintances. During one of his performances, Alex meets and begins a romance with Eva, Victor’s unnamed character, who is also part of his group. Among a series of shots, Alex watches Will Arnett’s character get into a fight with a woman at his house. Arnett’s character greets Alex, asking him what his purpose of returning is. Alex is then shown in a blizzard, accompanied by Olivia Wilde’s character.
Several shots in succession show Alex performing on stage, spreading what appears to be ashes on a beach, on a date with Victor’s character, attending a concert, and seemingly about to be hit by a car. The trailer ends with a grand shot of Alex at the 75th season of a musical performance in Chicago.
“There’s a mystic level of irony here that I need to share with you, and it all starts with you,” says Arnett to Pascal. According to recent reports, Arnett’s character was originally set to be played by David Harbor, who dropped out of the film earlier this year.
Most interestingly, Behmoth! has nine composers working on it, including Michael Giacchino, James Newton Howard, Henry Jackman, Alan Silvestri, and more. It stars Pedro Pascal, Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams, and Margarita Levieva, with Hank Azaria and Will Arnett.
Produced by Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, and John Gilroy, Behemoth! releases in theaters on December 4, 2026.
