Prince William returned to the polo field for his annual charity tradition. Princess Kate also joined him for the first time in two years after missing the event during her cancer treatment and recovery. this appearance came as Prince Harry continued his own charity trip across the U.K. The royal brothers attended different events during the same week.
The Prince of Wales steps out for his annual fundraising game while his brother captures London headlines
On July 10, Prince William played in the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup at Guards Polo Club in Windsor. Princess Kate watched the event from the sidelines for the first time since 2023. She skipped the 2024 and 2025 matches while she was receiving cancer treatment. Her return made the event special as the royal couple reunited at on of Prince William’s favorite charity events.
Peter Phillips also attended the match along with his wife, Harriet, and daughter, Georgina. Last month, William and Kate were at Peter and Harriet’s wedding. The annual polo event raises money for charities backed by the Prince and Princess of Wales. This year marked William’s 15th appearance, and organizers expect the event to raise the total fundraising amount to more than twenty million dollars.
The charities are Wales Air Ambulance, Shout, Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, The Passage and various others. William and Kate support many of those groups through their royal patronages. It is one of the largest fundraisers associated with the Prince of Wales each year.
William’s arrival coincided with Prince Harry’s own charity trip to Britain. Harry attended Invictus Games Foundation events in Birmingham and visited Birmingham Children’s Hospital through his work with WellChild. Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were not included in the start of the journey due to security reasons. Harry and William have not confirmed their plans for meeting each other during their visit.
